Terms and Conditions

MAGAZINE TERMS AND CONDITIONS  

Payment

We accept Visa or MasterCard only and use the secure DPS payment system to process credit card transactions.  Prices on the site include GST and are in NZ dollars. Subscriptions are non refundable and non transferable between titles, but may be transferred to an alternative recipient.

Delivery

All prices are inclusive of delivery costs. Once processed, subscriptions will start with the next issue to go on sale unless otherwise specified.
• For weekly publications please allow up to three weeks for your first magazine.
• For monthly publications please allow up to four to six weeks for your first magazine.
• For international delivery please allow up to ten to twelve weeks for your first magazine.

Back Issues

Back issues are available for purchase where we have stock, please call 0800 500 175 to see if the issue you are interested in is available.

Promotions

• From time to time, issues of our magazines may be promoted at retail outlets with a promotional gift with purchase. On some occasions, these gifts with purchase at retail will not be available to subscribers (this includes all 'Free Goodie Bag' promotions).  

• Subscription offers on http://www.nzmagazines.com are not valid in conjunction with any other subscription offer.

Cookies

Cookies are a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about the user. Cookies enable us to provide the functionality required on the New Zealand Magazines website (e.g. to place items in your shopping basket). It also enhances the user's website experience.

Privacy Statement

This Privacy Policy applies to your use of the New Zealand Magazines website http://www.nzmagazines.com It ap.plies to use by both visitors to the site and all customers who use any goods, products or services that we provide on or through the site including when you register for any  New Zealand Magazines services such as emails; newsletters, updates and offers of products.

Non-Personal Information

When you visit the site, our server, our agent's or contractor's server logs the following information, which is provided by your browser:
a) your server's IP address (a number which is unique to the machine through which you are connected to the Internet) or your personal IP address
b) the type of browser and operating system you are using
c) the domain name of the referring site (e.g. the previous Site that you visited).
The Server also logs:
a) the date and time of your visit
b) the URL address of the pages accessed and the documents downloaded.
This information does not personally identify you.  We analyse this non-personal information for certain trends and statistics, such as which parts of the site users are visiting, which features or services are most popular and to measure the effectiveness of advertising. We do not disclose information about individuals except for the reasons set out below.
Like the owners of most large websites, New Zealand Magazines also monitor interactions with our sites using Nielson//Net Ratings Limited to collect information such as the number of visits per day and to provide analytic services in respect of traffic to our site and the effectiveness of advertising and marketing.  More information about Net Ratings Limited can be found here: http://www.nielsen-netratings.com
We also use Google Analytics tracking code which allows us to track purchases through adverts and emails to analyse the effectiveness of our advertising - items purchased, region of purchaser, $ amount of purchase.  This is used to measure effectiveness of communications. Personal Information

There are times where we may need personal information from you, such as your name, postal address or email address, fax and phone numbers. We may also collect demographic information such as your age, gender, preferences and interests.  We do not collect sensitive information such as your racial or ethnic origin, political opinions or religious beliefs. In most cases, you will be asked to supply that personal information voluntarily.  This will enable us to provide you with the services such as emails; newsletters; updates and offers of products that you have expressed an interest in.  You may decide not to provide information to us. However, if you do not provide it, we may not be able to provide our services to you. Where you purchase a gift subscription and provide the personal details of someone else for delivery, that information will not be used for any purposes other than delivering the magazine and communicating about that subscription, unless we receive such party’s consent to use their details. Whenever we ask you to provide personal information, we will ask whether you wish to receive correspondence and information from us. This will generally be by way of an 'opt-in' box that will appear when you are asked to provide personal information for additional purposes. Please do not tick this 'opt-in' box if you do not wish your personal information to be used in this way.  We will take all reasonable steps to allow you access to your personal information and we will correct personal information if we are satisfied that it is incorrect.   You may ask to see any information we hold about you and we will provide it as long as we have such information and can readily retrieve it. You may also ask us to correct any information that we hold about you.

Use of your Personal Information

We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which you have provided it, unless you consent otherwise or we are required by law to disclose it.   We do not sell, rent or lease our visitor or customer information to third parties.  Your personal information will only be disclosed to those employees who have a need to know. Where we receive information about your session or about you, we may use that information to conduct market research surveys, for statistical analysis to determine site usage, to run competitions and for direct marketing purposes relating to our business, to tailor our services to match your needs and improve the site generally.  We may provide your personal information to others to:
a) provide our services to you and others;
b) send you bills (if applicable) and recover any money you owe ;
c) keep you informed of and conduct, sales and marketing activities in relation to Services available to, or planned for, you from us and other people ;
d) exercise any lawful right we or any of our related companies, our contractors, credit reference and debt collection agencies, communications network operators and selected business partners has.
Although we may publish aggregated information relating to your use of the services, such as usage patterns, we do not disclose information in a form that could reasonably be expected to identify you, without your prior permission.

We may disclose information about you or your use of the site and/or services without your prior permission if we believe that such action is necessary to:
a) conform to legal requirements or comply with legal process, or to help maintain the law
b) protect our rights or property or those of our related companies
c) enforce our site terms
d) act to protect the interests of our, or our related companies, customers or others.

Changes to our Policy

We may, at our discretion, update or revise this Policy from time to time. Any changes will take effect immediately once they are posted on our site. Your continued use of our services after any changes have been posted on our site signifies your acceptance of those changes.
