Frequently Asked Questions

 

  • Which issue will I receive if I subscribe today?
    New subscriptions will commence with the next available issue, unless you have specified otherwise i.e. start after Christmas. You will not be sent the current issue on-sale on the newsstands. Renewal subscriptions will start at the end of your existing subscription period.

     

  • How do I know if my order was successful?
    An order confirmation will be sent to the email address you have given. Your order confirmation will advise the details of the subscriptions and amount paid.

     

  • I don’t have a credit card. What other payment options are available?
    • Cash or Eftpos:
      You can pay for your subscription by cash or Eftpos by visiting our office at: NZ Herald Building, 46 Albert Street, Auckland. We are open between 8.30am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (except public holidays).
       
    • Cheque:
      You may send us in a cheque payment for your subscription. Please make your cheque payable to “New Zealand Magazines” and post it to us along with name and address details for billing and delivery. Address details listed here.
       
    • Internet banking:
      If you are an existing subscriber, you can pay your subscription by transferring the applicable amount to 06-0287-0590510-42. Please ensure you include your Customer Number as a reference for the transaction.
       
    • Direct debit:
      With some of our magazine titles you are able to pay for your subscription by direct debit from your bank account. Call us on 0800 500 175 to find out more.

     

  • How do I give a subscription as a gift?
    You can indicate that the magazine subscription you purchase is a gift on the delivery details page.

     

  • I’d like to purchase a gift subscription for a friend. Is there a card I can send them?
    If you have indicated that you are ordering a gift subscription, you will be given the option to have a gift card sent to them. Alternatively, you are able to have the card sent to you so that you can write a personalised message and give it to the recipient directly.

     

  • I wish to purchase a gift subscription for a friend but don’t want it to begin until after their birthday. How can I arrange this?
    If you have indicated during the checkout process that the subscription you are buying is a gift, you’ll be given the opportunity to select a future start date. Alternatively, you can email us after the subscription payment is processed.

     

  • There was a gift offer with my subscription. Will I receive the free gift with the first issue?
    If a free gift applies, all merchandise is dispatched and sent to subscribers once the promotion closes. It will arrive in a separate parcel to the magazine.

     

  • Often there are free gifts on the cover of magazines. Would these be included if I subscribed to a magazine rather than bought it at a store?
    In some cases, the promotional “tip on” gifts are only available with retail copies.
    Subscribers receive magazine subscriptions at a reduced rate and free delivery anywhere in New Zealand.

     

  • I am trying to place an order but I don’t know what my postcode is. How can I find out?
    You can look up your postcode by using the NZ Post Address and Postcode Finder.

     

  • I am an existing subscriber and I’ve moved house. How do I change my delivery address?
    Contact us at subs@nzmagazines.co.nz or by any of the methods listed here and we can action that for you.

     

  • I have a subscription and I’m going on holiday. How do I stop the magazines from piling up while I’m away?
    We can temporarily suspend your deliveries during this time, and your subscription will simply be extended accordingly. Just advise us of the dates when you’ll be away, and we will place your subscription on hold.

     

  • I’m an existing customer. I think I may have missed an issue. What do I do?
    Get in touch with us and we can arrange a replacement copy, or a credit on your subscription.

     

  • How do I get hold of a back issue of a magazine?
    We keep a limited number of editions from the last 6 months, so give us a call on 0800 500 175 to find out if the issue you are after is still available for purchase.
